BSNL launches CDMA mobile service
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has successfully started the sale of CDMA RUIM and handsets all over in Andhra Pradesh. Many operators have started their CDMA operations years before and launched the CDMA RUIM which are compatible with any OMH handset. Now BSNL is offering the same things.
BSNL CDMA RUIM (Removable User Interface Module) comes at a cost of Rs.20/- and two FRCs are available. FRC 44 offers a talktime of Rs.50/- and 1ps/sec tariff while FRC 46 offers a talktime of Rs.70/- and 49ps/min tariff. SMS tariff is local 60ps/SMS and national Rs.1.20/SMS and international Rs.5/SMS.
There are no SMS packs and call rate cutters availble in CDMA.

BSNL offers low cost tablet pc
BSNL is foraying into tablet market jointly with Noida based Pantel technologies by launching three tablets. All these come with bundled SIM cards with data plans.
One is a low cost akash rival T-Pad IS701R which is priced at Rs.3250/- and other two models are T-Pad WS704C and T-Pad WS802C for professionals.
IS701R is designed for students and as there is no SIM slot in this model, we have to use external modem through USB port. It comes with free data usage for 3 months.
Pan India 3G mobile service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the launch of 3 Android powered Tablets including two 7 inch resistive screen based tabs (WiFi and 3G) and one 8 inch capacitive touchscreen Tablets in association with Pantel Technologies.

BSNL launches roaming SMS packs
BSNL, the state owned Telecom Operator, has finally brought the much needed revival of its SMS Packs for its customers across India. BSNL was offering 3-4 SMS Packs earlier but they had a confusing/stupid limit dividing the total SMS in the package.
From today onwards, there would be no such restriction and along with this, now you would be able to send SMS while in Roaming as well. A Total of 3 New SMS Packs has been introduced priced economically at Rs. 36, Rs. 46 & Rs. 56. The old SMS Packs are withdrawn completely and SMS Pack 21 has been revised.
The new SMS Packs starting from Rs. 36 offer 3000 Local/National/Roaming SMS for 30 days, Rs. 46 SMS pack offer 4500 Local/National/Roaming SMS for 45 days & Rs. 56 SMS Pack offer 6000 Local/National/Roaming SMS for 60 days.

BSNL introduces ‘Choose Your Mobile Number’ offer in AP
BSNL has introduced a new scheme ‘Choose Your Mobile Number’ to attract new prepaid customers in Andhra Pradesh circle. This scheme allows customers to choose a prepaid number of their choice from a database of one lakh mobile numbers without shelling out extra bucks.Once a customer selects a mobile number from BSNL’s website www.ap.bsnl.co.in he will receive a PIN on his mobile which is valid for 96 hrs and the selected number will not be visible for the same period to others. Customers just need to visit BSNL customer care center along with the PIN to get the prepaid mobile number of their choice along with the documents to obtain a SIM card. They will be allowed to reserve a maximum of two numbers from the website.

BSNL increases 3G Data tariff
The Telecom operators in India are these days in consolidation mode. Now the focus shifts from new acquisition to enhancing ARPU from users. Reluctantly, the customers will have to face the burnt on account of increased tariff. It all started with AirTel announcing tariff by 20 % in its freedom plans and other operators soon followed. Now the state run PSU , BSNL too has decided to follow the suit and will increase 3G data tariff by 100% . BSNL has decided to increase the data usage rates for usage beyond free ,in all postpaid and prepaid plans , from existing 2p/10KB to 4p/10KB. This is the increase of 100% . Though in percentage term it looks big , but the 3G data charges of BSNL are still the cheapest in the market. It comes out to be Rs.4/MB while AirTel is charging Rs.15/MB and Vodafone Rs. 10/MB. It means that the pricing for 3G of BSNL and MTNL was fallacious.
Now BSNL has realized that the 3G data rates were not logical in view of high payouts for spectrum and seeing the competition rates and has thus decided to enhance the rates. The company has rationalized the 3G prepaid and postpaid data plans and increased the data rates and reduced some freebies.
- Data rates beyond free usage in all postpaid and prepaid plans increased from 2p/10KB to 4p/10KB.
- The free bundled data usage offered along with 3G data card reduced to 200 MB valid for 30 days.
- Postpaid plans Rs89, Rs. 189, Rs1819, Rs2720 and prepaid RCV Rs.2000 are withdrawn. These data data plans were offering huge free data for low price for ex. Rs.2000 RCV offered 22GB of free data.
After revision the free data usage in these plans have been reduced, for ex. RCV Rs.100 used to offer free usage of 250 MB which has been reduced to 225 MB.

BSNL launches special prepaid “JAI JAWAN”
BSNL has launched a special prepaid plan "JAI JAWAN" under 2G & 3G services for all Paramilitary Forces w.e.f. 29/07/2011.
Details of JAI JAWAN Prepaid Plan:
- SIM & Activation(bundled FRC) charges in Rs. (incl ST) (2G) Rs.52/- & Rs.91/-(3G)
- Initial Validity for both 2G & 3G : 30 days
- Grace period for both 2G & 3G : 15 days
- Initial Free Voice Calls : Any network : Rs.30/-
- Initial Free Video Calls : Local/STD on-net : 10 mins
- Initial free P2P Local/National SMS : 100
Validity extension Voucher RC 99 (C-TopUp) : Rs.99/- (Inclusive of Service Tax)
- Validity (w.e.f. present expiry date): 30 days
- Usage Value : Rs.75/-
- Applicability : 2G & 3G
- Voice calls to two BSNL Mobile/Fixed/WLL numbers any where in the country while in Home LSA or National Roaming : Free (subject to Maximum of 20 Minutes per day combined on two numbers)

The details of activation & applicability of plan:
- The Plan is applicable to central Armed Forces/paramilitary forces.
- In case Photo copy of the Identity card can't be submitted by Paramilitary personnel, then Officer In charge should certify the official and attest the Photograph.
- A Self Certificate indicating that no other connection is activated in his name under this special plan any where in India is also to be taken.
- The Paramilitary forces personnel who are enrolled under this plan may be advised to recharge with 99 (through C-Top Up) for extension of validity for 30 days.
- The "Jai Jawan" Plan is allowed to be activated through BSNL CSCs only.
- The customer can talk to 2 BSNL numbers (friends & family) free of cost for 20mins day

- For two Free Nos – PMF <1st no.>
<2nd no.> to 53733 - For rest of the three nos – FFE <3rd no.>
<4th no.> <5th no.> to 53733.
