Dual SIM functionality in a mobile phone have been the latent need of Indian consumers for long which big players failed to identify while new entrants made it the way to success. As per IDC report, Dual SIM phones account for around 40% of the total mobile phone sale in India and that’s too big a segment to ignore.
Nokia India has ultimately realized the fact and decided to strengthen the Dual SIM mobile phone portfolio. Today Nokia announced the launch of it’s two dual SIM phones : Nokia C2 -00 and Nokia X1-01 at “Twin’s Day Out” event held at New Delhi. Last year Nokia had launched its first dual SIM phone in the Indian market but now Nokia is betting big on this segment has plans to launch many more dual SIM models.
The two new dual SIM mobile phones launched today are meant for two most important segment of mobile customers. Music lovers and Mobile internet addicts. Nokia C2-00 is meant for mobile internet using customer segment and Nokia X1-01 is designed for long hours of music listening.
Both these handsets have Nokia’s Easy Swap function which allows customers to swap between the two SIMs without removing the battery or switching off the phone.
C2-00 is priced at Rs. 3000 while X1-01 at Rs.2000.
