Nokia, Vodafone join hands to provide Life Tools services

Nokia and Vodafone has joined hands to launch Nokia Life Tools services targeted at providing Indian consumers with access to relevant content on agriculture, education, healthcare and entertainment.

The Nokia Life Tools is customized for Vodafone to deliver Vodafone's entertainment services along with Life Tools suite of services.

Speaking on the announcement, V Ramnath, director, operator channel, Nokia India, said, "Filling in the information gaps with Nokia Life Tools, we strive to contribute towards empowering people in the emerging markets with the right tools to help them make informed decisions in their daily lives."

The agriculture services include personalised agri related information, weather updates, crop advisory and market prices of their produce.

While health services will encapsule personalised health tips, pregnancy, childcare, respiratory, heart, diabetes and general health and fitness tips for men and women.

While educational services such as Learn English, General Knowledge and exam preparation modules covering State and Central Boards will also be there.

Subscriber of Nokia Life Tools will also get ringtones, RBT, games, news, astrology and much more.

These services are designed to address information gaps thus enabling consumers to be better informed and positively impacting their life improvement and livelihood needs.

For instance, farmers can leverage Nokia Life Tools' Agriculture Services to get immediate personalised updates on areas such as best practices from experts, agro-met weather advisory and Market prices and arrivals of commodities from the nearest mandis.

Nokia has collaborated with multiple partners including IGNOU, State Agriculture Marketing Boards, Syngenta, Pearson, EnableM, NDTV among others to create a rich ecosystem to deliver the services.

This service is available on a range of entry-level Nokia handsets including the popular entry level devices and is available in 11 Indian languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada and Punjabi in addition to English.
