Facebook, world’s largest social networking giant is now all set to launch a dedicated Facebook phone with handset manufacturer INQ Mobile. INQ is known for their fun mobile phones that specialise in social networking, Their recently launched android smartphones, the INQ Cloud Touch and the INQ Cloud Q, made entirely with Facebook in mind. INQ are said to have worked closely with Facebook to deliver the ultimate Facebook mobile experience for 18-28 year old users. Although many smartphones have the ability to integrate Facebook the INQ device is more about Facebook than it is a phone by giving users access to the news feed, favorite friends, Chat and Places on the home screen. Facebook have taken over other typical phone features including changing the name of an address book to a ‘friend list’.
INQ mobiles were among the first to bring Facebook and social networking to low-end cheap mobiles. If you only use your phone for social networking, texting, or phoning then buying a smartphone is often overkill and so INQ catered to this niche.
Most probably facebook phone will be available from April 2011 from Car phone Warehouse and Best Buy UK for free with a £20 a month contract.
