Uninor launches unlimited music service

Uninor has launched an ‘Unlimited Music’ service in all its circles. Unlimited Music lets listen to music from a collection of 2,50,000 songs. Subscriber can enjoy this service by paying charge of Rs 2.50 per day, Rs 15 for 7 days and Rs 60 for a month.

In Unlimited Music, subscriber can also enjoy Music Radio for free, by dialing toll free number 52222.Caller tunes and Ringtones are also available at a consolidated price, the three services are integrated: While listening to a song on IVR the user can press * to set it as a ring back tone and # to download the ringtone.

Olav Sande, the EVP of Uninor’s Western Circle operations says: “Your phone becomes your personal MP3 Player at Rs 2.50”. We strongly disagree, and find this statement misleading, since it appears that users cannot download and store MP3 files – only hear it on IVR.

The problem of selecting a ringback tones on IVR from a song database which contains around 2,50,000 would be an extremely tedious process. The improvement in this field is required and we would be happy to see a mobile web search based interface for the same

The music has been licensed from Hungama, which has a huge collection of music from several labels including top brand label companies like T-Series, Big Movies, TV and Yash Raj.
