Now read and listen to your newspaper on Android phone

NewspaperDirect, a Canadian-based company, has launched a new app, PressReader, for Android devices. The application provides Android users and newspaper enthusiasts access to over 1,800 same day, full-content, local, national and international newspapers.

PressReader provides content of nearly 50 newspapers and magazines of India including top English papers like The Times of India, The Hindu, and Hindustan Times. Also included, are the popular Hindi and regional language papers like Dainik Bhaskar, Deshbandhu, Divya Bhaskar etc.

For people who like business newspapers even they will get a lot of choice from Business standard, Economic Times, and Mint to name a few. With PressReader, you can have access to magazines like India Today and Business Today. For kids also, there is Nandan (Hindi) magazine.

PressReader allows those, who want further insight into specific articles, to get that insight with complete ease from multiple sources. The app provides readers with full-content digital replicas of the printed edition. What this means is that users could flip the pages on their mobile device exactly as they would do with printed newspaper. They also have the ability to pan, zoom and scroll to get a better look at the publication they're reading and view articles in text view.

You can share the contents via email, Facebook and Twitter as well. Not just that, you also get the ability to access on-demand audio which means that the news content is read out to the users.

While the application is free of cost, you will need to subscribe to the newspaper that you want to be delivered on your phone. And there are two ways to it, one you directly request the newspaper for its online edition or subscribe it through the app itself.

The application is available for Android version 2.1 and above. It is also available for iPhone, Blackberry, Windows and Symbian phones.
